SwipeCare

SwipeCare is an eHealth system that Strikersoft designed, built and developed to make healthcare processes more efficient. It helps care staff work on the move, reduces administrative work and involves patients more in their own care.

The challenge

Healthcare teams spend a large part of their day on documentation and repetitive administrative tasks, often in systems that don't follow them to the patient. The goal was a tool that supports care staff where the work actually happens and lets the system itself drive routine parts of the care process.

What Strikersoft built

Strikersoft developed SwipeCare as a mobile system that care staff use on iPad, integrated with the TakeCare medical records system. Over the years the team added:

  • automated care processes, where the system books lab appointments, contacts patients and involves staff when needed
  • comprehensive care documentation via iPad directly into TakeCare

Results

  • Aleris Sleep Apnea in Stockholm reduced its care queue from 7,000 patients to zero and cut waiting time from 1.5 years to 2 weeks, at a lower cost.
  • Since 2017, SwipeCare has been used by most specialist home care (ASIH) units in the Stockholm region.
  • Hospitals including Södersjukhuset, Danderyds Hospital and Karolinska University Hospital have trialled SwipeCare in their daily work.

SwipeCare today

SwipeCare is now owned and developed by CompuGroup Medical Sweden AB (CGM), the supplier of TakeCare. Read CGM’s press release, their LinkedIn post and more about SwipeCare on CGM’s website.
